There is no mincing of words in the Letter to the Gaatians. Paul does not believe in witches, yet there is no other metaphor that so powerfully evokes the bizarre change of doctrine the congregations of Galatia have come to adopt than that they have been bewitched! In the strongest language Paul defends tha authenticity of the gospel he had originally preached to them, rigourously attacking those who have 'crept in' to take them back to the binding rituals of Judaism which they had left behind to follow Christ.
Q: Paul seems furious in this letter, yet he was used to dealing with difficult issues in the congregations he had founded. Why is he so angry?
A: Here is the answer to question one.
