The two books of Chronicles cover a similar period of history to the books of Kings: they tell the story of the Israelite monarchy. But there are several features which make the Chronicles account stand out from what is recorded in Kings. Chronicles has a particular focus on the kings of the southern kingdom of Judah, and it contains a lot of information about the Jewish temple and the ritual associated with it.
