Paul’s Letter to Titus

Titus, another of Paul's spiritual 'sons in the faith like Timothy', was a young man who had served as a missionary at Paul's side. The two had preached in Crete, and now Paul had left Titus behind in order to appoint elders and help the new community get established. Now Paul writes to Titus, encouraging him in this new role, and urging him to ensure that the young communitiy maintains sound doctrine in the face of some of the threats, obstacles and alternative views they would have to withstand. There is a strong emphasis on practical living both in the church and in daily life.
