Like it's twin, the Letter to the Ephesians, Colossians discusses the revealed mystery of the gospel of Jesus and the sharing of that message to Jews and Gentiles. It stresses that all truly valuable knowledge is centred on Christ and his work, while other paths to 'enlightenment' are merely dead-ends. God has exalted Christ, and He has exalted believers, too. Accordingly, they are called to a new life and new responsibilities.
